Questions in a conclusion of an essay?
Unless the structure of the essay was left up to you, I cannot stress enough, DO NOT PUT A QUESTION IN YOUR CONCLUSION. You are never supposed to insert any new information into your conclusion that you have not already discussed in your essay. A question is open-ended and you are supposed to gain CLOSURE upon reading a conclusion. Asking questions is a good thing when reading an essay if it were up to me - HOWEVER, I got penalized many years ago for putting a question in my conclusion. Many professors and teachers prefer one stays away from questions in an essay altogether unless it is in the introduction and you plan to explore the answer to that question within your essay. This is my experience; I do not know how strict your teacher is, but if it says anything like "adhere to MLA structuring format" then stay away from questions. If it states anywhere that structure does NOT matter, then questions are acceptable as the structure is completely in your hands.
