What is a member at large? There is one at the Pta at my child's school.?

A member-at-large is a board member that is ratified to handle funds (for any function where you have cash handling) and is on call for PTA functions (bookfairs, fundraisers, carnivals, etc.). It is the best way to become familiar with your PTA board without the commitment of having a set job. I started as a member-at-large and have since been bookfair chairperson for two years.
